A hybrid event and discussion about the PAW-book The impact of rebel parties on governance, democracy and stability: From guns to governing co-edited by John Ishiyama and Gyda Sindre.
Date and time: 9 June 13.30-15.00 (BST – London time)
Location: H/G09 Heslington Hall, University of York & Zoom
The book sheds light on an hitherto under-explored theme of peacebuilding, namely how former armed groups that become political parties impact on democracy after civil wars. It bridges two fields of scholarship that rarely interact, but that clearly benefit from closer conversations – namely that of political party research/theories and peace -and conflict studies.
